SHERIA NGOWI: YEAR OF THE GENTLEMAN S/S 2011
Sheria Ngowi one of Tanzania’s leading design houses released their Spring Summer 2011 collection last week and we managed to get a short interview with him about the collection and what inspires him to make these high end men’s suits.
1. What is your Inspiration for this collection?
So many sources but it primarily comes from my late Father who was an incredibly gentleman and cause he used to love fashion and sense of style which inspired me a lot.
For me a gentleman is someone who’s polite, intelligent, talented, modest, well dressed, well groomed, and culturally aware. So I’ve taken that role into my own hands. I’m here to help, to advise, and to generally aid men in their quest to better themselves and become gentlemen. I want to save everyone else the effort I’ve been through and give them a one-stop resource for everything they need to known. My goal is to give African men, a platform of inspiration. I showcase all things fashionable and stylish, so they need to “step out of their boundaries and try something new” and become gentlemen.
2. How many pieces does it have?
Only 20 Pieces because it takes a lot of time. The first time you see everything put together you finally say, ‘Oh my God, it works!’ Because it has been a long process, when it is finished you think, ‘Finally, it is done!
