Jay-Z Settles With Baseball Star David Ortiz

Rapper Jay-Z has reportedly agreed to settle a trademark infringement lawsuit with David Ortiz after suing the baseball player over the name of his nightclub in the Dominican Republic.
The Big Pimpin' star and his business partner Juan Perez filed a lawsuit in New York in April, accusing the Boston Red Sox star of infringing upon the name of their 40/40 sports bars by naming his hotspot the Forty/Forty Club.

They claimed Ortiz had been a patron at their Manhattan club on "several occasions" before opening his own bar in his native country, according to the New York Post.
However, the two parties have now reportedly ended the legal dispute, with Ortiz agreeing to rename his venue and pull down its promotional website FortyForty.net.

Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty To Drug Charge
Incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne will escape further jail time after reportedly striking a deal with U.S. prosecutors and pleading guilty to a 2008 drugs charge, according to a new report.
The Lollipop hit-maker is currently serving 12 months behind bars at New York's Rikers Island prison, after he was convicted of illegal weapons possession in an earlier case. The rapper - real name Dwayne Carter - has also been embroiled in another legal case, stemming from a 2008 incident when authorities allegedly found cocaine, ecstasy and a handgun on his tour bus at a border checkpoint in Dateland, Arizona.
He was arrested and pleaded not guilty to a string of weapons and drugs charges, but is now said to have agreed a deal with Arizona officials in Yuma County Superior Court after appearing via a live video feed on Friday. Lil Wayne reportedly entered a guilty plea to one count of possession of a dangerous drug, and now faces 36 months probation, which is slated to begin once his current sentence in New York ends.
Remaining charges, including misconduct involving weapons, possession of drug paraphernalia and of a narcotic drug for sale, will be dismissed, reports YumaSun.com.
