HYDERABAD: Immigration officials
nabbed a suspicious looking youngster who was attempting to travel to Malaysia
and seized Rs 1.92 crore worth Katemine Hydrochloride from his baggage on
Wednesday.
According to sources, Ibrahim Allabaksh, 22, of Chennai,
was nabbed by immigration sleuths while he was trying to board a Kuala
Lumpur-bound flight.The sleuths grew suspicious when they noticed that Ibrahim
was from Chennai and trying to board a flight from Hyderabad that too on a
tourist visa.
“He was unable to explain why he was travelling
from Hyderabad. He was detained and his ‘checked-in’ baggage was
off-loaded from the plane,” the source said. When officials checked his
baggage, they found 20 packets of milk powder. “Hidden inside the packets
were sachets of Katemine Hydrochloride worth Rs 1.92 crore which he picked up
from an agent in Hyderabad. Customs authorities arrested him,” the source
added.
